Glenn "Dash" Roberts
“Dash” was born and raised near Louisville, KY and earned his private pilot’s license in 1983 while still a cadet in the ROTC program at the University of Kentucky. After graduation, as a newly minted Second Lieutenant, he entered pilot training with the U.S. Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. Dash has made his living as a pilot, flying professionally ever since. After earning his Air Force “Silver Wings,” Lieutenant Roberts was assigned as an Instructor Pilot at the Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training Program where he taught new military pilots from 13 different Nato Nations the basic skills of flying formation, aerobatics, instruments, and low-level tactical navigation in the T-37 jet trainer. He was later chosen to fly the U-2 high altitude reconnaissance aircraft concurrently with the T-38 Jet trainer. Always seeking to explore new avenues in aviation, Dash finished his military career transitioning to rotary wing and flying the HH-60 Blackhawk helicopter in the combat search and rescue mission. Dash is a veteran of the first Gulf War and retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of service. He is currently a Captain and Instructor Check Airman at a major US airline flying the Boeing 767. Dash, and his wife Sherri, founded the SKYLINERS Flight Demonstration Team in 2025. Dash flies as the Team’s primary Flight Lead in his 1954 T-34 painted in yellow and white Navy colors. He is passionate about preserving the legacy and history of military aircraft while fostering patriotism and national pride through airshow formation flying demonstrations.
